Students in grades 6-8 join for Sunday School every week from 10:30-11:30am starting September 15th. We usually have a snack, play a game, look up verses in a real paper Bible and then have a science experiment to illustrate the Bible lesson. After that we all pray out loud for one another. We welcome visitors and friends.
Our youth grades 9-12, led by Jacob Liddle, meet during the 10:30am service starting September 15th throughout the school year. Students dive deeper into scripture to better understand the Word of God.
Our Youth ministry here at AFMC is called DV8 which is based on the scripture found in Romans 12:2 which says; “
Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”. We strive to deviate (DV8) from the norm which are the patterns of this world. At DV8, we’ve created a casual, non-judgmental environment where students from 7-12 grades can come and belong. We try to make this as fun and relevant as we possibly can!
We begin with a lesson, prayer and then enjoy a time of interactive and fun games. We exist to reach all young people in our surrounding area. To equip them to walk in God’s ways, to serve God daily, worship Him through every circumstance, and enjoy each other’s company. We believe every young person regardless of age, race, color, history, or reputation has a God given purpose for their life.
Bible Quizzing is a ministry that encourages junior and senior high school students to study and memorize God's Word through competition. Each year a specific portion of scripture is chosen (eg. Matthew, the epistles, or 1 & 2 Corinthians) and quizzers will study that scripture throughout the school year. The competition comes when quizzers are matched with other quizzers to see who can answer the most questions about this specific portion of scripture. This is done on a weekly basis during Quiz practice, periodically at local tournaments, and annually at Regionals and Nationals.
